Fun Ways You and Your Dog Can Have a Blast Together and Express Your Individuality

Enjoying fun activities with your dog not only strengthens your bond of togetherness but also is a great way to add physical and mental stimulation to your pup’s life, which promotes overall good health, of course. Mutts CCO Pe’ahi Pete and I have been Sup Pupping together since he was just a little pup. In fact I don’t think I have ever went paddle boarding by myself. Whether you have a new puppy or old faithful by your side there are plenty of ways to express yourself and have FUN with your dog! If you like to rife a bike get a special bike basket for your pup and take them along!!! Guaranteed to put a smile on every one you pass.

Create a social media fan page. Are you and your pup ready to be internet sensations? Creating a TikTok or Instagram page with your dog is one of the most enjoyable ways to show off just how incredible your bond is. Instagram @Peahi_Pete has his own account if you’d like to follow his and his packs adventures. I started it because it was fun and silly at the same time and even though I have a million pictures of him on my phone , browsing his IG still gives my joy. Not into managing a budding social media star? Share a photo of your dog every week on your own social media profile. Since he is also Mutts CCO ( Chief Canine Officer) you will also find him gracing Mutts IG a lot as well @mutts_n_muscles_massage.

Wear matching outfits. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and fashion is the ultimate way to express your individuality. While we don’t necessarily wear matchy clothes , there is a few small pup businesses we like to support and occasionally kinda match. Snag matching gear for yourself and your dog that shows off your purest personalities! Check out our social for shout outs.

Have an Instagram-worthy photoshoot. We live in a beachside community, so there are endless photo ops. As I mentioned earlier and most likely you’re phone is also filled with photos of your pup too, never hesitate to pose and snap. One day you’ll be glad you have ALL the photos to look back on. Pose your pooch at the local spot in your town with a little character, and you’re bound to get all the Instagram likes.

Sign up for a subscription box for you both. Treat yourself and your canine companion to a monthly goodie box! Snag a treat subscription box for your dog and a fun one for yourself. If you don’t already have one, I HIGHLY recommend! Pete LOVES his Bark Box subscription and somehow knows when it arrives.

Go on a walking tour of your city. Play tourist in your own town! We recently went on a hike to find a swing in a tree that overlooked our beach community and it was amazing. 15 min from our house. We plan on searching for more “secret”spots. Grab your matching gear and plan your route around your city’s most pet-friendly spots for treats and attention.

Enjoy a stay at a pet-friendly bed and breakfast. Dogs are welcomed guests at some of the most exciting places across the world. We are getting ready to visit Yosemite national Park. While dogs are not allowed on most Trails inside the park, we did our research and there are many places they are still welcome including some trails , a lot of restaurants, most hotels, airbnbs, etc. . So if your pup travels well, plan a mini vacay for the two of you. Splurge on luxury amenities like pet-pampering packages for the ultimate FUN!

Netflix and nap. Rainy days don’t mean you can’t have fun with your dog! All you need is the comfiest spot on the couch, a canine-friendly flick and a few hours to nap the afternoon away.

Grab a puppuccino. This off-the-menu item is a bit cheesy, but chances are your dog will love it. Starbucks always has the free puppuccino as do most coffee shops. We also like to offer at home. Our pups hear the sound of the whip cream can and come a runnin’. As long as your dog is dairy-tolerant, you’ll have a coffee companion for life.

Plan a pet party. How long has it been since you’ve been together with all of your dog-loving friends? Plan a party for both people and pooches. THIS is a great idea and although we have never done this, I think we may plan this as a MUTTS event. Have everyone bring a present and swap so each pup gets something new to play with. Home-baked treats are an easy extra-special touch and can be whipped up in less than an hour.

Book a photoshoot with a professional pet photographer. Smartphone pics are great, but nothing catches the sparkle and soul and in your dog’s eyes like an experienced pet photographer. Plus, you can turn it into an art canvas that’s a focal point in your home, making you smile every time you see it.

Learn a fun new sport or mini-sport. Maybe learning an entire agility course isn’t on your list of goals, but how about introducing your dog to a single tunnel or a few simple jumps? How about a flirt pole (a dog-version of a cat’s toy-on-a-stick)? Pete LOVES to search, so we are getting him started in nose work. He will be doing it just for fun and its an activity we can do together and is rewarding for both of us.

Cook a dinner for two…or three, four or more if you have a whole pack of pooches. [You can find treats online (frozen yogurt dipped strawberries – yum!) http://www.riverlandingsanimalclinic.com/news/2017/6/26/pet-friendly-recipes-1] Frozen yogurt dipped strawberries – yum! Or you can even buy a recipe book https://www.amazon.com/Cooking-Two-Delicious-Recipes-Favorite/dp/1510714952].
